Yulia Burkhardt Position: Salon Management As manager, Yulia, born in Russia, is here to make sure everything about the guest's visit is perfect, on point, and an experience to remember. After coming to Las Vegas in 2004, she began her salon career as a guest service representative, quickly gaining the respect and love of her peers. Always a joy to be around, she brings stability and organization to the front of the house thus creating a soothing and relaxing atmosphere for clients, staff, and all visitors. With a flare for taste, good communication skills, and a bubbly personality, Canyon Fall's relationship between operations and patrons remains strong as a result of Yulia. Brent Scott Position: Salon Management Witty! Happy! Charming! Knowledgeable! These are just a few of the characteristics guests will encounter when meeting Brent, salon manager. A southern gentleman at heart, hailing from Lumber City, Georgia, he has crafted his leadership and customer service after working in management for twelve years at top salons in San Francisco, Chicago, and Las Vegas. With a degree in Business from San Francisco State, Brent, an aspiring cosmetologist, understands the salon industry and is motivated to make sure the client is properly taken care of with a smile bright enough to light up the room, which helps create the ideal ambiance for everyone who walks through the door. Blanca Acuna Position: Senior Artist Blanca has been in the salon industry for eleven years after obtaining her hair degree from San Diego's Je Boutique Beauty College. Following a successful stint as a hair stylist, she completed the Poway Academy's Extension Training Program. Acura prides herself on being a friendly, enthusiastic, and an ingenious hair stylist who focuses on providing each and every customer with exceptional results. As a true professional, trendsetter, and known for paying attention to special detail, Blanca's knowledge enables her to create synergy between the client's personality, lifestyle, hair texture, and physical attributes, resulting in unique designs suitable to the individual's personal needs. "My goal is to construct awesome hairstyles that are easy and suitable for the client to maintain outside the salon all the while still having that WOW factor." Doing great hair is her life! Ana comes to Canyon Falls after a ten year established career in New York City. As a senior stylist, Rivas, who enjoys salsa dancing, Latin music, and being outdoors; specializes in creative color and cutting, deriving her inspiration from her clients. "Seeing my client's face light up after a transformation is the best feeling I could ask for, especially when the patron trusts me to be inventive," she says. The 2001 graduate of NYC's Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences takes pride in her craft and couldn't imagine doing anything else. "Without scissors, brush, or hairspray in my hand, I wouldn't be complete." "It just came naturally," says Nakachi, who was always ahead of the game when it came to hair and fashion, two of her favorite interests as a teen. After a move to the mainland, she enrolled at Euphoria Institute of Beauty Arts and Sciences, one of Vegas's top cosmetology schools and a partner in providing Canyon Falls top-notch cosmetologists. She has identified education as means of staying ahead of the curve and has earned certificates from Global Keratin, Canyon Falls Hair Extension Company, and various cutting courses, all pursued outside of the salon. When not making client's feel beautiful, Shanna enjoys spending time with her 4 year-old son, Cade, traveling, shopping, and doing yoga. Salon Hours: Sunday & Monday- OFF Tuesday-Friday- 9AM- 5PM Saturday- 9AM- 4PM Sandy Rivera Position: Junior Stylist Sandy Rivera is a native of Las Vegas, NV and graduated from The Academy of Hair Design. She is now apart of our team and has furthered her education by having certifications in Hair Extensions and Global Keratin Treatments. Sandy also specializes in cutting, coloring and Beach Wave. She has taken color and styling classes from a variety of companies such as Infiniti color, Enjoy and Redken. When outside of the salon Sandy enjoys spending time with her husband, Dexter and two wonderful children, Dominick & Payton. Salon Hours: Saturday - Tuesday - OFF Wednesday - Friday - 9AM - 5PM Maribel "Mari" Davis Position: Lead Esthetician Mari graduated from Euphoria Institute in Advanced Esthetics with the goal of promoting good health and constant balance. As a skin care professional, she specializes in Anti Aging Treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Glycolic Peels, Vitamin C Peels, and Blue Light Therapy. In addition to facial services, she is amazing at eyebrow shaping and tinting. Mari’s positive energy, perhaps a result of her spare time being spent outdoors hiking and gardening, has enabled her to grow outside the walls of Canyon Falls as she represents Las Vegas as a Hylunia Product Representative. Whether, teaching about the profession she so loves, meeting new people, or simply spending time alone, Mari will continue to shine just as every client does once experiencing Mari’s magical touch Salon Hours: Sunday- 10AM- 4PM Monday- 10AM- 5PM Tuesday & Wednesday- OFF Thursday & Friday- 10AM- 6PM Saturday- 10AM- 5PM Lucy Johnston Position: Nationally Certified Massage Therapist On April 2, 2011, Lucy Johnston graduated from Northwest Health Careers in Las Vegas, Nevada with over 700 hours including work-study. She was introduced to getting massages as a treatment for Torticollis, a painful neck condition that causes a twisting of the neck to one side being brought on by muscle spasms. The combination of physical therapy and massage was a natural way to take control of her health. It helped her so much she saw it as her " true calling", and an opportunity to "touch" and heal others through massage therapy. Although the medical aspect is the reason Lucy went into massage, she has also taken a great interest in the "spa" aspect. She has discovered that everyone, not just those going to medical offices can benefit both mentally and physically with massage. Lucy is a member of the AMTA and holds a chair on the Anthem Institute Massage Therapy "PAC" Board. On the days Lucy is not giving massage or educating herself on new modalities, she is teaching at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Las Vegas. She also is a Fitness Instructor at Sun City Aliante and an independent personal trainer. In her free time she enjoys, hiking, biking, swimming and working out and leads a healthy lifestyle with her husband Duncan, and her two cats, Pumpkin and DeeOhGee. Spa Hours: Sunday- 11AM-4:30PM Also available for on call Lorena M. Loza-Cohen Position: Licensed Massage Therapist Lorena M. Loza-Cohen is a happily married woman with a wonderful family. They provide Lorena with positive reinforcement throughout her everyday life. Lorena attended school at the Nevada Institute of Massage Therapy and graduated in May 2010. This school gave Lorena an opportunity to excel in an industry that she was passionate about. The education that she received enabled her to prosper in the field by learning various techniques such as: Suiatsu, Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Acupressure, Sports Massage and Cranial Sacral. When not providing care for her clients, Lorena loves to ride bikes on the long trails of the desert, enjoying the energy from the environment. Each service she gives is performed with the frame of mind of bringing the guest's body back to its natural centering point.
